Hit the water with fellow board member Cajunangler. Fished from 12 until 8 and had a very good trip. I would guess we caught around 40ish with 20 keepers. Caught fish on a variety of baits including spinnerbait, crankbaits, jerkbaits and jigs. Most of the fish came from the backs of pockets and very shallow as usual for me...had to convince Cajun I could catch fish shallow on Table Rock :D Had Cajun take this pic of a decent one and should have taken a some others because we had some good ones. Great day on the water and enjoyed the company.

Good fish and good day sounds like. I fished 4pm-dark last night and only managed 2 keepers on top and lost a real nice fish on a buzz bait.

I ran into 3 older gentleman in a white ranger and they were in back of a pocket and appeared to be crappie fishing. I asked how the crappie were biting and they told me they were drop shotting bass. I stongly encouraged them to stop it and pick up a buzz bait, redfin or spook as they were in a great spot for big ole bass. They indicated they were not have much success on the drop shot and then challenged my intelligence/youth as to why they thought drop shot is the only way to fish for bass on table rock.

Oh well, I just said good luck and left...

You're killing me here. I hope you're out there today. It was all I could do to muster going to work and not hook up the boat. With the front coming in I figure they will be on the feed big time again today.

I won't get out until Sunday. It will be interesting to see if the front kills the bite. Any day on the water though is a good one.

I'll be intrested to see if the front puts them into the next level. It should just get better with the colder temps for a while.

Yep, I got to see first hand that bass on the rock can bite shallow. Had a great time with Tfsh4bass, I just needed to get a few more bites at the rear of the boat. But I guess you have to take your lumps every once in a while. I would have responded sooner but I was on the water at Bull Shoals yesterday from daylight to dark.

Sorry guys for the quality of the picture, the fish looks fine but I couldn't do much with the human subject. ;) I tried to get him to stay later since we left the fish biting but I think he needed his beauty sleep (just look at the pic!).

Tfsh4bass, when you get ready to go again just let me know. I'll be ready and maybe we can take my old Bass Cat.

ps The only real way to catch fish at the rock is to fish deep, really deep!!!

Cajun is making it sound like I front ended him all day :D Just want to make it clear I sat further off the bank than I normally do so he had plenty of room to cast plus I fished like a snail :D

Thinking about heading down tomorrow but haven't decided yet

I didn't say or imply that I felt "front ended." I was simply stating that I would have liked to have gotten more bites but I want more bites when I catch 50. I think we all know fishing out of the back reduces that number when compared to fishing out of the front. Nothing anyone can do to change that it is simply fish being fish and usually responding to the first offering. Still had a great time and learned a little more about the rock.
