troutfiend1985 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 So I went out to Crane yesterday. Had a blast, enjoyed the fishing and the trout(caught three). But I stumbled upon some troubling news: According to one guy I ran into, the upper wire road access is dry. I have heard that the upper access can get dry, as in only a pocket or two of water, but he said the whole thing is dry, no water left at all. I'm hoping for some rain, Crane needs it. I definitley hope that this changes before the spawning season. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis
Buzz Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I'm glad you caught a few fish. Which area did you fish? Every creek is running low right now. I don't know about the upper wire road section of Crane though. He may have been pulling your chain too, maybe not. We do need more rain to get these creeks up and flowing again. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

I don't think he was pulling my chain he was a pretty honest guy that was really concerned about the situation. I fished the park area, and then a little down by the lower access area. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis
timsfly Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 It isn't dry on the upper end, just the middle part where it always drys up, the trout are fine, but the water is very low, we do need rain. laker67 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 The middle part used to run underground to just above the tressel bridge. With all of the floods in the recent past, I didn't know if it still did that. There used to be a large hole of water about 100 yds above the tressel that it flowed out of.
