Don't forget the CLA's from Ross.

I do believe the CLA is Ross's replacement for the Cimarron. Cimarron Large Arbor?

That's what I meant. The CLA2 to be exact.

Not to join the hendrix hate-fest, but these days you have to be nuts to not have a legit looking website out the second you put a product on the market. It makes you LOOK illegitimate even you have a great product. The first thing most people do is google a product they've never heard of. If nothing comes up, or if it looks fishy (not in a good way) it's a no-sale.

I hope that hendrix does well, and look forward to seeing their product. But with zero information available, I'd have to withold judgement until one was in my hands. I think there is a big hole in the market for inexpensive quality reels, so if they get their act together I think they should do well.

And TFO is made in Korea, I'd hardly call it crap. Korea isn't china, but you get the idea.

PS, no offense to Terry. I'm sure you hear about the website alot. When that info is out there I'm sure your job will be a little less of an uphill battle.

And as far as SA buying Ross, I expect it will be much better than the Shimano takeover of G Loomis. Let's hope so.

I've witnessed what happens when 3M purchases another company. I'm not sure what happens to the people from the company but the product seldom changes except to improve it. I have witnessed this all from the automotive aftermarket division, so there may be some difference, but you would have to look real close to even know that these products are owned by 3M. They don't buy succesful companies just so they can run them into the ground.

Good luck with the line Terry and tell them to make a better looking reel.

And good luck to you Flytyer on never buying another product that has anything made in China in it. It's going to be a boring and expensive life that you live.

If I can find a good product made here in the states, like a rod or reel, I'll buy it. If not...

I went to Walmart the other day cuz I needed some new shirts. Ended up buying shirts that were made in Pakistan. I know that most of the stuff we buy nowdays is made overseas. There isn't much we can really do about it. I don't know of anybody in this country that is in the textile industry anymore. Even Levis packed up and went overseas. I no longer buy Levis but the Lees or Wranglers I do buy are probably made overseas too.

My Plymouth van was made in Canada. A lot of Fords & GM's are built in Canada, Mexico or Japan. I could buy a Toyota and know it's made here in the states but that defeats the purpose of buying American.

I prefer to buy American when I can and I try to stay away from stuff made in China. The reason we have high unemployment in this country is because of all the companies shipping our jobs to places like China, and for that reason, I try not to buy anything made there.

Anyone happen to know where Sage, Winston, Scott, Thomas& Thomas, etc. get the graphite extrusions to make their rods? And what about the aluminum for Ross, Abel, Orvis, etc. reels?

Most of the carbon fiber that is used to make rods is probably shipped from Korea. There are companies in the states that make it, but it's quite a bit more expensive. Could be the reason a Sage, Winston, Scott etc rods are so expensive. They might use American made fibers.

Aluminum is quite readily available here in the states. I doubt they import aluminum.
