Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 23, 2010 Author Root Admin Posted November 23, 2010 Thanks guys. I might just get him going in a good direction with a camera body and let him take care of a lens. I know there's a wide range of cameras, lens and $$$ to spend. I'm sure we're looking for middle ground.
Rolan Duffield Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Phil: don't you already have a Nikon SLR camera? All you need is to buy a long focal length lens for it. When using these long lenses you will need to support them using a tripod else you'll have bluring problems resulting from movement in the long distance pics.
hank franklin Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Hi guys. Sorry to jump in here but I've been looking for a camera in the $300 range and the Kodak cited earlier in thread looks pretty good. I don't need a lot of zoom, my priority is to be able to take decent photos in low light. If any of you were in the woods this past weekend deer hunting past sunset with the full moon out, there were great pictures to be had (no, I wasn't seeing deer at that hour). But my puny little entry level Olympus failed miserably. So would that Kodak fare reasonably well in that situation? Any other suggestions? $300 would be my tops, would love to make it happen for closer to $200. Thanks.
