There is quite a bit of paranoia on these threads, that's fer sure! Anyone been fishing? I'm looking for a place to go this Friday (thinking Taney - but perhaps RR?)

Was going to spend some time at one of the local winter trout lakes during the Holidays, but all this global warming has them all frozen over!

Haha! I'm thinking RR or Bennett. Probably RR- it's supposed to be snowing, but I need a fly fix. Not all of us can skip on down to Belize I'm going to get home Fri night wishing that the U.S. was warming instead of trending flat!

It's a constant in these debates.

It wasn't politicians who cleared the Penn State and East Anglian scientists, it was a panel of scientists who analyze data for a living and whose funding depends on maintaining their integrity.

With those who want their data to prove their point for political and monetary gain.

I'm not saying we can go back to the days of black smoke from the factories, polluted water and trash dumped into our streams, etc. We have made long strides in controlling all pollution. The problem is there are people who want to use the excuse of global warming to completely change our way of life. People who will go to any length to control every aspect of our lives. The biggest threat to their political desires are a strong and free United States. Extreme regulations on our industry, transportation, and freedoms is as sure of a way to destroy our liberty as terrorists and missiles.

Paranoia, no. Knowing how to boil a frog, yes. Put him in boiling water, and he jumps right out. Put him in cool, comfortable water then turn the heat up and he doesn't notice he is in trouble until it's too late. Believe it or not our frog is being boiled by those using global warming as their cool water. Not all that are concerned with the environment are part of this effort, but they are being used by those who are. Recognize your enemies, and know your own weaknesses.

That may be the first time I've ever seen the slowly heating frog analogy used as an argument AGAINST global warming.
