rps Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 a google search turned up eric prey's name as one who was sponsored by Fall Creek. Maybe he has information. PM him.
motoman Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Here's some info I posted in a prior thread on the topic. Not sure how accurate any of it is anymore? =============================================================== - I found this on Eric Prey's 7/24 outdoors page. (He's here on OAF as 'focused fishing' too) - Fall Creek Custom Lures Olive St. Republic , Missouri 65610 Phone 417-732-6978 - I have no affiliation with these guys, I've just marveled at their work. Be sure to check out their 'Galleries' or 'Colors' on their pages. Impressive stuff! - -(in AR) http://www.baitwerks.com/index.html -(in Steelville, MO) http://www.oscarbassbaits.com/

motoman Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I updated oscars correct website in my post above. Again, I don't have a dog in this hunt, just some cool work worth taking a peek at!
Guest Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Baitwerks has a pretty good deal, maybe. I guess its all in what your looking for.

But, I guess it really depends on what someone is looking for. You can pay a bit more for some really exotic color scheme/patterns, which may not be necessary. OR you can have simpler paint schemes/colors done at a better price. - To each his own.
OBBT Staff Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Eric Gandy in Texas is one of the most talented guys I've ever seen. They carry his baits at Anglers Pro Tackle in Dallas. Website. www.anglersprotackle.com His website www.heavycover.com Email and ask for custom pictures. Mark
Members Doug Vahrenberg Posted December 25, 2010 Members Posted December 25, 2010 Check out David Ryan's Dave's Custom Baits he builds from scratch custom balsa crank baits and custom paints. http://www.davescustombaits.com/
Members Bass Ivy Posted December 28, 2010 Members Posted December 28, 2010 I had an old Bagleys killer b 2 that did not have hardly any paint left on it and it would still catch fish. It was just the color of wood. I finally broke it. I think the action of the bait is whats important and then just have the basic shade of the color you are wanting. i mean can a bass really see all that fine detail on a crankbait when it comes cruising by? These custom painted baits look real good. These guys are some very talented artists. I just dont think a bait has to be that pretty to be effective. If I had some all i would do is look at them because they were purty. Id be scared to death to tie one on for fear of loosing it. Ive actually been thinking about painting some of my own baits. Id like to buy old baits and color them up with the basic color patterns and go fishing. Ive heard for starters the paasche dual action is one of the better ones to start out with. Ebay is probably a good place to get them. Have you guys seen the H2o Express lures carried by Academy Sports? They look good and i mean real good. And they are really reasonable on the price.
Members Skeeter007 Posted January 4, 2011 Members Posted January 4, 2011 Allan McMillin with A&J Custom Baits in Battlefield does the best job of anyone that I have seen. The finishes that he uses on the baits are nearly indestructible and will not fade. I believe he gets $8.00 to paint a bait and can do just about anything. He also makes custom jigs and is working on making some balsa baits and I have taken some baits in there in several pieces that were put back together better than new.
