Members The Occasional Crappie Posted January 16, 2011 Members Posted January 16, 2011 went to glaze arm after the storm new years eve morning and we took home 27 keepers in about 4 hrs. fish were in 20' of water 12 to 15' deep over brush. red/chartruse, blue/white. let it down below them and reel up very slow. i wish more crappie fishermen would post.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 16, 2011 Root Admin Posted January 16, 2011 Thanks for posting. Yes- still trying to crack the LOZ market. We've had more people posting about crappie on LOZ here in the last couple of months so may be that's a start. Crappie reports are, though, kinda hard to come by anywhere. It seems crappie anglers aren't real excited about giving up places where they catch them. But that's probably like any other fisherman... Thanks again. Hoping to get up to LOZ before spring and do some crappie catching!
Seth Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Hope Phil doesn't mind me posting a reference to another forum. Have you checked out crappie.com in the Missouri section? There's a lot of LoZ guys that do nothing but crappie fish over there. I also crappie fished New Years eve after the storms, but was on the Osage River near the MariOsa access. I boated 25 in about an hour and a half right before dark. It was on fire! Went back the next weekend and Bagnell had been generating and the water was murky and caught 0!

At least I got a good laugh out of it. Better than setting here with 10" snow on the ground and waiting for another 4 to 6, dang weather guesser.
