Well to define the reasonings. I had a bet with a guy I fish with on the green bay game. Since they won, he has to buy a mega for me.

I agree with the netcraft baits. Have around 8 of them already. If they are hitting the sticks good, netcrafts are great. But have noticed that if they are being stubborn, lucky crafts and spros work better. Never had a mega before.

I'm disappointed that Cajunangler didn't clarify his earlier comment about me being full of crap. If I bother to comment, I'm going to be completely truthful. If I want to keep something quiet, I don't comment.

It looks like I need to make amends for an "off color" comment that was taken wrong. I wasn't trying to imply anything serious. I simply know that when it comes to purchasing lures Ham probably spends $2 to my $1 and I just give him a hard time over it. But as the old saying goes "to each his own." And since the current migration for lure manufactures has them pricing lures higher and higher it hurts my feelings since my personal philosophy is to find good substitutes at lower prices. Unfortunately, there is a simple business model they are all following which is "price your product as high as you can until your sales begin to decline." Just like fuel prices there is no incentive for lower pricing when they sell all they want at higher ones. Sorry Sorethumbs if I appear to be too negative in these last comments.

I love the looks of the Megabass. The problem I have with the ones I own are the don't sit in the water the way I like. They almost stand on there head when paused. If you try to weight the back end the still stand on there nose but sink. Some people might like that but i gets in my head. Now last weekend the Megabass is all I could get bit on instead of the Luckycraft and Spro so go figure.

And to answer your question I like the Skeleton Tennessee Shad.

Guys. Theree has to be a reason that these pros are using Megabass jerkbaits. These things were a secret for several years. For some reason they catch fish better than other jerkbaits. I have talked to several guys who say they have had there butt kicked by someone in the same boat using a Megabass when they werer using a different brand. As far as color I would have to say that Pro Blue is the best for these Highland resevoir lakes. IMO. I have another one that is called Natural Shad. This is a good color too.

I have jerkbaits going back to AC Shiners and Rapala Original Minnows drilled out and weighted all the way to modern one like Pointers, Daiwa TD Minnows, Jackall, etc. Sometimes one works better than another in a certain situation, but I'll have to disagree that one bait is always better than another.

I've outfished my partner who was throwing XRaps and Pointer's with the original Suspending Rogue. The ones I bought at Wal-Mart, too.

For the bargain shopper, look what is now posted at Lurepartsonline.com:

Just add split rings and hooks. You're welcome.

I do like the head down dying action, since I watch shad die a lot this time of the year and that is the direction they are pointed when they are dying, then they will they to get back to the top, then head straight back down head first.

Rsbreth, I'm with you on physical appearance. The only real question mark is it mentions they are floaters. So you would have to add suspend dots or some other weighting to get them to suspend. But for the money it would probably be worth a few bucks to try out some.

I don't disagree with you that different things work better on different days. I'm just saying there is a reason that the pros think these are the best jerkbaits. These guys are using them even when they are sponsored by someone else. I used to think that it didn't matter what I used either but it seems like you get what you pay for sometimes. I'm not saying they are the only option I just think they are the better option. IMO.
