Dutch Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Let me know if you do go, interested to see how much ice there is? also I used to ice fish before i moved to missouri I would go if ther was at least 4 inches I dont think it is 4 in. yet it wont do it. So you have ice fished thats cool did you have a deal with a flag that flips up when a fish is on? You are from up north? did you do any good? This is SWMO not Wisconsin or Canada. What the hell are you guys smokin' anyway.

Ice fishing is interesting to me. sounds like you want no part of it. Buckle down winter is'nt over yet. Plus, nobody else has anything to say on here. Everybody is getting bored sounds like nobody is doing any fishing. Maybe to much ice on the lake? I would'nt know have'nt seen the lake in awhile. Maybe you could tell me Dutch... Huck
Members Bubfisher Posted February 8, 2011 Members Posted February 8, 2011 yeah I used to ice fish up in Wisconsin its easy, you just tape your reel to the top half of a two-piece rood and wallah your good to go. I heard some guys did it last year on Stockton when it was -8,-8 for two days. A regular pick works good for making a hole. and a bucket to sit on. .........and yeah like everyone says just be super safe!

But you need a good size hole to pull the lunkers out!!!! Duck tape would work nice on the reel. It would be fun, might try looking somewhere before this weekend. gonna get 54 degrees Sunday. But Im guessin if you threw a rock out there it would proably go right threw the ice. just has'nt been cold enough. Still would just like to see the lake. Kinda miss her...

The cool mist in my face from the boat splashing, the Bald Eagles flying ever so high but they can see you just fine, and the spring turkey on the bank struting and drumming, and he dont even know your there on the water. And when your staring and gauking at all of that beautiful stuff a FISH JUMPS ON YOUR HOOK!!!!!! "Oh crap thats what Im here for" and you miss that one... now your ready for the next one... Huck

You do have my symapthy though. lol In order to fisght the "fishing fever" I spend a lot of time on: http://www.myoutdoortv.com/fishing MyoutdoorTV has several hundred fishing videos from most of the better shows. This is a good time to watch them and learn about ice fishing, new techniques or anything else you are curious about. Mossy Oak Online and The Outdoor Channel website also has a lot of good showes. PS - Suppose to be in the 50's soon!!

Buddie mite wanna go fishin with his boat if it is that warm. Hows around 215 bridge were the brush piles start? Is that water deep around there never fished there before. Huck
