Billfo Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Are the Cow & Indian Creeks frozen over ? We are comming down in 2 weeks to check things out & do a few things in the house. Should be a shock to see how different things look.. We got 7 to 9 inches yesterday on the west side of Cow Creek...depending on where you check with the ruler. The Berryville, Ar. area got 9 to 10 inches....My friend that lives south of Eureka Springs got 17 inches. Email me Red-Right-Returning is for quitters !
skeeter Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 VERY seldom do TR coves freeze over. Last time I recall was the Winter of '77-'78. By the time you arrive, if there was any ice in the extreme back ends of shallow coves, it will be long gone. Nice warm-up coming, so they say, but that warm air has to flow over the very heavy snow in NW AR first ! Even some liquid-type rain is forecast in the long-range prognostications/guessing-game for next weekend (not this one).
edyer Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Your reports sound like they are coming from where I live in Michigan. We had 16 inches from what they are calling the Blizzard of 2011 on February 3/4. I went ice fishing yesterday and caught a limit of bluegills after drilling through 16 inches of ice. The days are getting longer and the birds were singing at daylight this morning and a forecast of 50 degrees by the end of the week. You folks should be a lot warmer. It will be the end of March before we lose our ice here. Good luck with your snow and your fishing. Looking forward to your fishing reports.
