Was wondering the same thing. Has the weekend thaw been enough to open things back up...at least in the main lake. I would think that the sun/temperatures should have been enough to melt most of the snow and ice off of the ramps.

Does anyone have a report?

As of Saturday afternoon, everything that I could see south of the mile long bridge was frozen solid, including the main lake. North of the bridge there was some open water in the middle of the lake, but the arms were all frozen. The entire orleans Trail cove was frozen except where the pumps are running at the docks. I doubt there are any ramps that are useable until late this week.

Your info is much appreciated gee3. I was able to get ahold of someone at Orleans Trail and they gave pretty much the same story.

Seen my uncle at David MacMaster funneral, and he lives at the Master's area he said boat dock was frozen even a good ways out but the deep water was'nt. But we have some good weather all week, and then I heard another cold snap on the 20th. the sun needs to do its thing this whole week.

As of this morning,Orleans Trail cove is still ice covered, lots of open water in the main lake, but all the coves I saw were still covered.

I have busted through four inches of ice before to get out in a lake...Once it is ok to launch there will definately be guys out there breaking it up to get out to the main lake. Especially since it is common knowledge walleye get frisky right after the lake is iced out. I am hoping to be out on Stockton within the week.
