Sounds good! The winter lakes are a great place to hone your fly fishing skills.

I know you are wanting to fly fish, but I caught a couple in a very short time last year after we could start keeping them at Lost Acres in Overland on a "montauk special". Just a woolly with a brass inline spinner on an ultralight spinning rig with 4lb mono. Seemed almost like they hadn't seen something like that for some reason because I caught like 3 in about ten casts.

I'll have to try that, Jim. Do you put the spinner in front of the bugger?

montauk sells them like that

Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds.
