HI everyone!! well i recently moved to Clarksville Ar from Madison WI and i was wondering if there are any good fishing spots near Clarksville. Im still fairly new to the state so if anyone could help me find some hot fishing spots near by i'd really appreciate it. Im more interested in knowing where Walleyes are hitting right now and Bass and what baits they're hitting on.

How about Lake Mendota, Lake Monona, Lake Waubesa, Yahara River, Lake Wisconsin, Wisconsin River...

Just kidding.

I'm not really familiar with that part of AR, but the Arkansas River and Lake Dardenale is close by to you. Not sure if they have any walleyes. Dardenale should have some nice bass in it although I've never fished it, just heard from BASS magazine. Bull Shoals Lake has walleye, but I don't fish it either. The Buffalo River should start picking up soon for smallies.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Dardenelle is an excellent bass and crappie lake. My cousin, who later became and retired as a game and fish ranger, went to college near that lake and we fished it together several times.

For walleye go north to Bull Shoals. The walleye tour used to stop there before the economy forced them to stay close to "home."

Greers Ferry lake is a great walleye lake. Head northeast to the Buffalo river or if you have a big boat go out on the Arkansas river.

everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

Arkansas is full of great fishing water. I lived in Benton for 8 years and was spoiled by the great fishing in Central Arkansas. I don't know any place in Arkansas that doesn't have great fishing water. After the first few years, I never drove much more than a half hour for great fishing water. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commision website has a fishimg report every thursday that they will E Mail you. They also have maps of smaller lakes all over the state that that have great fishing Lake Conway being the largest of them just North of Little Rock.I would give the AGF office in Little Rock a call thy gave me a lot of info when I first moved there.

D... You are surrounded by great water. What do you want to fish for? You're less than an hour from it all except trout and maybe Walleye. But you live minutes from great bass fishing for sure in Lake Dardenelle. Streams, rivers, lakes, and even some farm ponds if you ask are all in your backyard.
