Ham Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Cajun Angler and I hit the water before 0700. Launched at Buck Creek. We ran a little ways and headed up a creek. Water temps mid forties to almost fifty. Wind was our friend most of the day. Nice chop on the water helped our bite(I think). We got bass on grubs and jerk baits. We also caught one lone White Bass. Judging from the locals fishing from shore some Whites are being caught, but we had little luck with them. We caught just over 30 bass. CA had one over 4 lb, but most were small fish. Another great day on BSL. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Cajunangler Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 WOW!! You didn't even let me get home before posting a report. Besides, I was going to stop posting and just stay in the abyss like most of the others. Now Champ188 don't send me another comment about being negative, just a little ribbing here and there. And powerdirve, I have to apologize for Ham because he didn't specify this was a GREEN FISH report. I'll try and edgumucate him. I also fished Friday solo and tried a different area to see what was happening other places. I struggled for half the day and didn't even boat a fish until 11am. I guess you can't catch fish where they ain't. I finally figured out a few locations holding a few and caught a total of ten before leaving right before the bottome fell out. All of my fish Friday came on assorted jerk baits. Most of them were 14-16 inchers but I did have one that measured 19 1/2 inches. Good solid fish. With this cooler weather what little progress they have been making to look shallow will probably slow down again. Spring is gonna get here eventually!! Ham and I have another two day trip scheduled next Friday and Saturday so I'm sure one of us will post something. Isn't there some unwritten rule that the boat owner, not the passenger, should post first.
Ham Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 I need to learn these rules in a hurry because I'll likely be a passenger rather than the boat owner for a while. Hey, we did throw baits at While bass for a while and we were hoping Walleye would hit our jerk baits (but they didn't) so it wasn't just a green fish report. Besides all that, the bass weren't very green either. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
rangerman Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Sounds like a good day to me. With the exception of you guys not catching a single walleye. That is kind of disheartening. Good report guys thanks. Hey you didn't happen to check the water temp did ya? I'll be down Friday fo' sho'. Silver Ranger/Red accents 620vs with kicker motor double console. I'll be lookin for ya'. Hell, I might even teach you guys to walleye fish................Maybe
Cajunangler Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Man, everybody seems to be only concerned with those toothy critters. I guess that just leaves more of the green & brown fish for us. As to water temps, depending on location (main lake or up a creek arm) and time of day we were seeing anywhere from 46 to 51. But with the current temps and cool nights predicted this week we'll be lucky to have them hold steady all week.
