I think I set a new personal record, and not necessarily a good one. This was my first trip out since the beginning of December, 2010. I don't think I have ever gone this long without fishing. I can't let this happen again!

I put in at Orleans Trail Marina around 1:15 p.m.. Never put the boat on plane. Went to the south side by the no wake buoys and worked my way toward the back end. Caught a 14 inch bass on my first cast. Caught it on a Megabass 110. Proceeded down that bank and caught 14. My 15th fish was a crappie. Next cast another crappie. Third cast a third crappie. The graph was lit up with fish. I was in about 18 feet of water. I switched to an 1/16th oz. white grub. I caught around 25 crappie and I brought home a limit of 10 1/2 to 11 1/2 inch crappie, and 2 walleye. They finally slowed so I went back to bass fishing and caught another 15 or so before I quit for the day around 4:45 p.m. The old saying is, "wind from the east, fish bite the least". Well, not today. Only one keeper bass and it went 16 inches. Water temp was around 44.5 degrees.

Thanks for the report. I've done well in that cove just about every time I've fished it.

Thanks for the report. Now I am itching more. I am putting the finishing touches on my boat, I will soon have to scratch the itch. :D
