Predator1 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Well I finally made the 5 hour trip down to table rock this past weekend. A buddy and I fished up around Eagle Rock hoping to lay into some white bass, but the weather made it tough to find them in any great numbers. However, we did get into some nice spotted bass; including this chunky ol' gal I caught on a lucky craft pointer 100 off of a secondary point. This was by far the biggest spot I have ever caught. Nice fish...did ya get that softball out her...I think my kids must have been hittn balls in the lake again...lol.
Members Fishin Fanatic Posted March 28, 2011 Author Members Posted March 28, 2011 Yep, she definitely had a hefty gut...my buddy had an old scale that weighed her in at 4lbs, but i wouldn't be surprised if she was slightly heavier than that. Did anyone catch much in the way of white bass this past weekend?

Did anyone catch much in the way of white bass this past weekend? What color did the trick? I really like the Ghost Tenn Shad...I only wish they weren't $15 a pop. abkeenan Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I would dare to say that is closer to 5 than 4. Its is an absolute butterball. Speaking of weight. Can anyone recommend a good, accurate yet inexpensive digital scale? Say around $30?

Try the Jane's Netcraft version or Academy's H2O version, same action but at $3.50 a piece you can have a lot more in the boat for a lot less and still have money for a few gallons of gas.
Members Fishin Fanatic Posted March 29, 2011 Author Members Posted March 29, 2011 The Chartreuse Shad color is what I ended up catching it on...Lucky Crafts are great but they are pretty pricey; I've been wanting to get a few megabass jerkbaits, but at $25 a piece they are even more ridiculous than Lucky Crafts.
Members Crappie Fisherman Posted March 30, 2011 Members Posted March 30, 2011 Hey all, I'm new to this forum...I was just wondering what where some of your favorite white bass lures for late March when the whites are running. I've had some success on just about everything including rooster tails, crankbaits, road runners, etc.. White slider.
