Members smallmouth man Posted March 9, 2011 Members Posted March 9, 2011 I know Pomme was about 5-6 feet low all winter and now it is on the rise. I guess they have finished the dam work and now are holding the water to work on the area below the dam. How high could the lake get and when will the Corp open the dam again? Smallmouth Man
DChance Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 check some of the other posts here, someone had that info, I just can't remember exactly how much.
Dutch Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Panfisher told me last fall that it would have to get close to 20' above pool before they would let water out. The work is not done and it will take a month or so to finish it. Even if they decide to run water, they have to give the contractor 10 days to remove all of his equipment.
Members Shad Attack Posted March 9, 2011 Members Posted March 9, 2011 this could already of been answered elsewhere but, what exactly was wrong with the dam that needed to be fixed? or is this work just an update to the dam itself? I'd Rather Be Fishing...

I don't know the specifics but from what I gather it is upgrade work. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson

MOPanfisher Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 The repair work is all in the stilling basin below the dam. There is no repair work on the dam itself per se. The contractor got stopped by the heavy snow and cold temps so they lost some time, and the rains plus snow melt we have had hve jumped the lake to 848 or so as of this morning. The contractor has been issued a notice to expidite the work as much as practible. Currently they have completed the pouring of the floor and have begun on the side walls. The trigger elevation for issuing the contractor the notice to vacate is 855.0 elevation. We sincerely hope that doesn't become necessary due to the increased costs, possible damage to work already done, and even possible loss of the funding for the project if they are pulled out. It is in everyones best interest to complete the work if at all possible.
