MaxDrown Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 The water was too high, so we decided to postpone. We still haven't made it down there yet. -- Max Drown
MaxDrown Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 Hey guys, we're going to try this again on Sat. Will the river level be good for floating and fishing? -- Max Drown
HighPlainsFlyFisher Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 It may very well go down enough to float by this weekend but at the current levels I wouldn't want to try it. It's still up over 1000 cfs right now which is pretty high and I would assume from past experience it's pretty dirty as well. Hope this helps you make the right decision...Jeff http://highplainsflyfisher.blogspot.com/
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I would say no! When the rise is from rain across the entire watershed all the feeders and springs keep feeding it and slowing the drop. If you get a rise because of rain in Wright or some part of Dallas county it will drop fast sometimes, depending on how much rain. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
