From a panfish point of view, and even though it's miserable fishing in the wind - that's when my best fishing is! Tomorrow is supposed to have wind from 11 to 23 mph with gusts to 30, and I'm going fishing.

I think my aluminum boat is capable of going backwards and sideways faster than it'll go forward with the main motor in those conditions - I'm like a dry leaf on a pond. I do a lot of drift fishing, motoring upwind to the top of an area then drifting down with the wind, controlling the drift with my trolling motor and trolling a swimming minnow or Roostertail.

I'll look for places where the wind has baitfish blown up against banks and points, and that's where the white bass and crappie will be.

Wind and Current reflact light. They also create O2, move bait and zooplankten that bait fish feed on. Wind and Current also distort the image of your presentation, and make it appear to be much more natural. On clear water lakes it also covers up boat noise, and keeps the fish to some degree unaware of your presence. Wind and wave action also add a degree of sediment to the water again changing the visibility and preception of your presentation.

You fish TR, it is best to have it. I had two guide trips today, and I am pooped and I know there are a ton of spelling and grammer errors in this post, but I am to tired to fight it. Champ can clean it up for me.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. Bill

Thank You All...I was a little surprised that none of you mentioned spinner baits, when I have watched Bass fishing on TV it seems like they are pretty common. Maybe they are season specific?? Thanks Again and I will let you know how I did.

Blade bite on Table Rock is pretty much dependent on the wind blowing hard. Very miserable to do all day when conditions are right. Overall, this is a finesse lake...little baits, clear and deep water, cobweb line.
