Members Fishin Fanatic Posted March 15, 2011 Members Posted March 15, 2011 Hey all, I'm heading down to the lake this weekend and i was just wondering what the bass have been doing. Has the jerkbait or jig bite been going the strongest, and also what is the water temperature like down there? Thanks

I have read that the main lake north shore down by the dam have been producing. Good luck and like to hear how you did.
Members Ryno Posted March 18, 2011 Members Posted March 18, 2011 The FLW Tour guys last week were catching them on jerk baits, jigs and some wiggle warts. I know they had to work hard for them. I went wednesday and thought i had had made my trip when i pulled my jig out from a secondary point and felt a good solid thud...for some reason a 6lb drum is not as fun as a 6lb bass?? Members Fishin Fanatic Posted March 18, 2011 Author Members Posted March 18, 2011 Thanks guys, i'm planning on fishing mostly jerkbaits. We'll see how it goes, I've also been hearing pretty good crappie reports so I may have to fish for them a little as well. Good luck to you all if your heading out this weekend.

For a minute they are. I'm kind of an embarassed expert on catching drum with bass tackle. Seem to hook-up with one every other trip or so. Members freelancer 11 Posted March 20, 2011 Members Posted March 20, 2011 The drum are biting very well. We caught 5 last weekend also caught some good bass. Jigs were the better of the baits for us. Maybe next time we will go drum fishing so I can catch a limit of bass.
Bill Babler Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Got a couple of days off next week, and might go up, so spoke to a friend that guides up there. Just got is Fed. Lic. He said the Drum Bite Is On. You throw a jig on Lake O. and you are pounding the Drum. He said it is about as good a bite as he has ever seen. They are dropping the lake 4 ft. so it might pay with all the current to look on the main lake points, and bluffends. Reports of temps in the 47 to 55 degree range. Some fish on a wart, most on a stickbait under 10 ft. Im going to see if I can get him to post a weekly report on Lake O. Would that be nice or what? Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
