hooked on crappie Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I am going to CC Friday. Can anyone tell me the water color? Brown, yellow, murky ????? Thanks I got to go to CC today, March 18. We had a real good day, caught 16 keeper crappie and 13 nice whites. We caught most everything on green swim-N-minnow and pink and white jigs. Water was from 53 to 55 degrees an murky. Almost all fish came from less than 6 feet deep, near the bank. ( Hooked on Crappie ) See ya on the water Frosty!!!
Thunderin Gobbler Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Last I heard it was pretty murky, but Straw hat is up there today, so he can give you a better report later.
straw hat Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Fished the CC bank today. The water is two foot above normal but can still walk the bank some. Water was pretty milky but only slightly dingy. Not perfect but fishable. Water temp was 53. The bite was veryyyyy light. Half the bites dropped the minnows. They were suspended 14 to 18' in 20 to 22' of water. I saw quite a few white bass caught. Most were in the 12 to 14" range. Didn't see a lot of crappie caught in my area. A few boats but not as bad as I expected but lots of bank fisherman. Spent 8 hours and only came back with 6 crappie and one white. It was a nice day to be out though.
