Members zthomas Posted March 21, 2011 Members Posted March 21, 2011 Beautiful weather and a nice float from Redding to Turner Bend. Fishing still pretty slow except for green sunfish in the boulders along the shore. A few little LMB or spots chased the fly, but that's about it. Just doesn't feel like a very fishy river up there--main attraction is that it's the closest place with an outfitter that will run a shuttle for me. Guess next time I go, I'll try something lower down.
ollie Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Next time go from Turner Bend down to the cemetary. They will pick you up there if you ask them real nice! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
tjulianc Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 ZT, you post some of the best photos. Even though the Mulberry isn't the best fishing river, it is still one of my favorites. Isn't there a take out between Turner Bend and the Campbell's Cemetery? I've never floated it, but hear its a good fishing stretch. I've caught some nice fish in the pool up from the cemetery, wade fishing.
