Took off a 3day weekend to spend some time with dad. Sat. we took the kids spoonbill fishing. Sunday we went shed hunting and Monday we chased crappie a while. Anyways I caught the biggest spoonbill of my life on sat. 95+ lbs after drying on the floor of the boat for over an hour looking for a decent scale. I'm sure they heard my little girls squeeling for miles!

The only thing outweighing the cool factor is the nasty factor there. Cannot imagine one of those in my boat. The odd catfish leaves enough mess.

What a monster!

I tried to get molly to stick her head in his mouth. NO GO

Wow what a monster! That's the second spoonbill over 90 I've seen pics of from the James already this year. Congrats!

Too cool. And I just managed to get my 9yo to lip her own smallies. Don't think she would go for the mouth deal.

My God! Did the lake go down when you pulled her out?

I'm thinkin if I would have ran her to the scales right then instead of waiting an over an hour out of water she would beat 100 lbs but who knows. She about broke the branch the scale was on and when I held her up with tail barely touching ground she was 95. My best beast regardless.
