Depending on how much you want one, you might shoot Del a mesage with a description and pic. He does nice work with aluminum. Haven't used the other folks, but they have always come highly recommended by folks on TU. Think I would try to find a do-it that was close, maybe a mushroom head or the tip-up head, and dremel from there, but I am cheap that way.

Definatley both of you and anyone else,

I had thought about selling them a few years ago when i learned larew had bought them out and discontinued them.

was not sure on all the rights to that pattern since it was gone, thats where the idea of changing up the design

came in and noticed it would actually improve it. prefered finding something close.

knowing my luck i would open up my email the next day and have 200 orders waiting and have a single mold to work with.

for you guys interested i dont mind making some for cost.

most of the ones i have left i dipped some in olive, the others in brown. one bag is untouched.

I only had looked at 2 sites for making them. will check out that page. would prefer to find someone i could meet in person

to custom it out right the first time instead of just casting it and then describing what i want then hoping

for the best.

appreciate all the info.

As a substitute standard, you might check out these from Slider

Not a stand up, but heavy. Shoot Del at Del-Mart a pic and ask what he thinks about it. If you send him one of the originals you should get an exact mold. But...I looked at some of the 30+ molds I do have and it looks like you are going to have trouble finding a hook that will work with that design (not long enough between eye and bend, no jig hooks with a similar bend). Unless you want to have 10K or so custom made for you. Bending doesn't work very well with hooks.

Guys:

Totally clueless on this conversation; you guys could have been talking Chinese and it would have just made as much sense. Now I know how my wife feels when I am trying to explain football to her. Thanks. Joe

Joe...the old Garland (and maybe Canyon Baits?) hyper hula head was a stand up head built on what was basically an offset worm hook, with a very long space between the neck bend and the eye to allow the head to be poured. Attached a very bad computer paint representation. Was a good head for craws, hulas, tubes. The problem trying to custom or tweak a mold to duplicate it is with the hook. Because most jig hooks are have the eye bent at a 90 degree, 60 degree, or around 30 degree angle to the shank, it will be tough to make one work. Likewise, most worm hooks will not work due to the short length of the wire between the eye and the start of the offset neck bend. Gamakatsu's skip gap might come close, but has the same eye angle problem. Would work fine for a straight head like a slider or a Jobee. The link to the slider page shows many examples of heads built that way.

Hooks are next to impossible to bend at that point in the wire without breaking them, which is not cool at 35 cents and up per hook. Hope that helps.
