Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 2, 2011 Root Admin Posted April 2, 2011 Thanks for the pics and report. I don't think it's any different on any fishing forum. If anyone, including myself, post a report and show/say that I kept a trophy fish, especially a rainbow or bass, something will be said by a few on the board. It's just the nature of forums. And it's not just keeping fish- it's handling fish, where you fish, how you fish, what bait you're using, what you're wearing... well may be not that bad. There's always going to be a few who call you out on something but behind them there's going to be dozens who appreciate the report, even those who aren't registered members who can't post. But if you do post that you've kept a fish, don't be surprised or offended if someone says something... cause they probably will.
Trout Commander Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Well thank you all for your support on the fish. I appreciate it. I'm glad most of you understand that if I didn't keep that fish the next person would of and it is coming out of the park for Christ sakes. If I was outside the park there would be a good chance I would release it. No browns were big enough to keep that we caught outside the park or any bows. SO THANKS AGAIN FOR THE SUPPORT FROM MOST PEOPLE AND NOT BEING A**holes LIKE SOME, when I was just clearly trying to show good pictures of a good time and memories with friends that will last a lifetime and tell people about a nice spring break trip to montauk. Really? You are so thin skinned that after Nathanael posts asking if you had a trophy fish on a stringer and asks if you have ever heard of catch and release and I, after posting "Welcome aboard and thanks for sharing. You guys caught some nice fish!", replied to Nathanael that he saw correctly, you did have a trophy fish on a stringer - and nothing more - that you call us both (you did use the plural form) a foul name? I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack
Members BrowningFisherman Posted April 4, 2011 Members Posted April 4, 2011 I won't use a foul word but asking if someone has "heard of catch and release" definitely has a certain tone to it, a kind of sarcasm that only certain types of people would use. Its his first post on this forum so he hasnt developed the calluses for certain members and thus might have thin skin
