You can always fish the co-anglers side of FLW or Central Pro-Am events. I have a boat and I still have fished the co-angler side.

Guest Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 i would but paying 700 dollars and the closet tournament is table rock i don't have enough money in time, how is it to fish on the back of the boat I've fished several of the FLWs as a co-angler. They are tough, its luck of the draw. It doesn't make sense financially to travel away from home unless you have a sponsor paying your entry fee. (I do not) However, you can cash a check and break even. Its kinda like a guided fishing trip with a different guide each day, I learned a ton about the fishery itself and various seasonal techniques. As for making money, I would fish local jackpots, charity events or club tournaments.
RSBreth Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 i would but paying 700 dollars and the closet tournament is table rock i don't have enough money in time, how is it to fish on the back of the boat The BFL Division of the FLW tournaments (Bass Fishing League) entry fee for the co-angler side is 100-bucks. The next one is Stockton lake. http://www.flwoutdoors.com/bassfishing/bfl/tournament/2011/6683/stockton-lake-details/ Another way to search for tournaments is to use the Missouri Water Patrol Regatta search for a certain lake. You have to file one of these for any tournament involving more than a couple of people. Regatta Search. Find a tournament, look it up on Google or whatever, and see if you can enter.
Trav Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I wouldn't ever do a co-angler event again. Something about having my own boat and having the control of where to fish means everything to me. Plus.....it is never fun to fish out of the back of the boat. Bothers me. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson

Of course they weren't happy with the fact that I was kicking their butt.....

aftersh0ck Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 all the tourneys i fished in the past were in the back. i did alright. at the time the boat was a 16ft 40hp. not something to use and expect your parnter to pay half let alone fish. lining up in the morning with the other boats would of been awful.
