Just curious...my step-dad usually fishing below the dam when he is in town. I am launching my boat at the public boat launch and heading up toward the dam so he down drown with the generation this weekend.....What is the creel limit and size on trout...and where are you aloud to use live bait?

Help is greatly appreciated.

You can keep 4 rainbows under 12 inches or one rainbow or brown above 20 inches. The Trophy Management Area ends at Fall Creek. There is a big sign there that you cant miss on the North Bank.

Thanks...does that also pertain to the river downstream from Fall Creek?

downstream of Fall Creek you can keep 4 rainbows of any size. I'm not real sure on the rules for browns down there.

I dont think there is a 1 fish limit on rainbows over 20in... I would hate to see someone take a limit of 4 out..

Special Area Fishing Regulations

Lake Taneycomo

On the lake and its tributaries:

* Brown trout—20” minimum length limit; the daily limit of 4 trout, combined total of both species, may include only 1 brown trout.

Within 760 feet below Table Rock Dam:

* No fishing is allowed.

From the closed zone 760 feet below Table Rock Dam to the mouth of Fall Creek:

* Rainbow trout—12” to 20” slot length limit

* Pole and line fishing only

* Only flies and artificial lures may be used, and soft plastic baits and natural and scented baits are prohibited when fishing for any species.

From the closed zone 760 feet below Table Rock Dam to U.S. Highway 65 bridge:

* Fishing permit (unless exempt) and a trout permit are required to fish for any species.
