I finally have things together enough to say that the fly shop is now open. I'm still waiting for some items, but now have enough that if you come down with a rod and reel, we can handle the rest. Rods and reels will hopefully be in soon. No need for the other fly shops in the area to worry, I'm not big or fancy, but do have exactly what you need to catch trout on the NFoW. Fishing has been outstanding so far this Spring so come down, check out the shop and wet a fly along the mile of riverfront out in front of the fly shop (you won't run into a crowding problem). If you are interested in more specifics about the shop check out my website Dead Drift Fly Shop. Have some decent fish pics on the site as well, most if not all have been caught this winter and spring.

Shot him just outside of my hometown of Fort Scott Kansas a few years ago and decided to bring him to Missouri.

Nice work Justin. It will be really handy to have a place to pick stuff up right on the river. Sign me up for a sticker for the driftboat.

Already got them, should have some round boxes coming in soon also.

Awesome! I will pick up a couple the next time I am down.

I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted.

I like it Justin. Is that miracle mile wadeable, and do you have a set fee for access?

Justin,

So what weight fly rod would you recommend to use with the Saw Blade fly you got there? Also what type of tippet would you use? Do they make a Florocarbon cable? :)

FYI: Great start you got going for your Fly shop!

It is the "marsupial mile" due to the number of possums. Very wadeable, but since everyone is catching bigger fish than me I think the price is going up. We charge a $5 rod fee, but if you spend over $500.00 at the fly shop we cut the fee in half to $2.50.

We use saw blades instead of frisbees down here, keeps the kids from getting soft.

As for the deer head, got to have it in the living room for about 2 weeks for "safe storage", before moving it to the fly shop.
