Members jimalert3 Posted April 25, 2011 Members Posted April 25, 2011 Guys we have now caught 3 big large mouths on Stockton over 10 lbs in the last month. A lot of Bass have already spawned but a lot more spawning over the next month with the lake cooling off so much. Yes I have pics and I can show any of you on my iPhone cause I can't download them online. But they are hawgs and full of eggs. My big 11-12 lb fish we catch every year is gone and off her bed. She spawned in about 4 foot of water under a tree we placed for her. Jimafish. I need to correct myself,it was largemouth you said. When you get 86 you don.t see like you we young. Jimafish

straw hat Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Correct Thunderin Gobbler, and in his first post jamesedward said largemouth.
Members jamesedward Posted April 25, 2011 Author Members Posted April 25, 2011 LoL, you guys had me going back reading all the post I made. I was thinking Omg did I say small mouth. I was fixing to look like a idiot. Is there any 10 lb small mouth. I'd say not in Missouri. There is state record small mouth on Stockton though. Most of us have caught 5 and 6 lb small mouth on Stockton. But 10 lb. I'd have to see all evidence of one that big caught on any lake. Right now though I have some friends who is wanting to fish some Thursday night tournaments. When do they start. I don't see anything for them.
Thunderin Gobbler Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Well forget it! If you are fishing them tournaments then I don't have a shot. lol I guess I'll just have to donate my money to you.
Members clf989s Posted April 26, 2011 Members Posted April 26, 2011 I took another look at the pictures and was a little confused on the picture to the right. When I enlarged it there appears to be a thin white line along the spine of the fish. What could that be from?

The sun is on the left side of the fish and the fish must have still been wet. Just a guess.

Just a guess. I'd hope the fish was still wet. I fish and release everything. I do not fish tournaments cause of all the cheating bastards.
straw hat Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I can respect your directness on tournament fishing for bass. I fished some tournaments back in the early 70's. There were a few fishermen who from time to time got caught padding there catch with fish they had caught the day before.. Mostly I stopped because of unsportsman like conduct. They would buzz within a few feet of your boat so as to ruin where you were fishing. Dangerous too. Just a note that there are a lot of your people that read this site and try to learn from it. You might want to watch the "creative" language if you know what I mean. just a thought.
