Not to take a stab at someone, but can you tell me, with citing to the constitution, why the health care bill was held to be unconstitutional? Just wondering, it seems lately that this term is thrown around quite a bit. And I'm not saying that you don't know it, I just want to see how you know it.

I'm not a health care plan supporter, just in case anyone is wondering.

The Government mandate that stipulates to individuals if they don't have healthcare, they have to purchase that from the Government itself. I would say the same thing if this were being putforth by Republicans as well. And this is something that is never brought up by anybody, do you really want the Goverment, no matter what party is in charge, to know such private details about yourself ? I can't think of ANYTHING more personal than you're medical situation. Also, if this goes through, where is it going to end? Seems like a Pandoras box to me, but what do I know, I'm just someone who dig's freedom and independance, that's all! Didn't know it was quizbo time, but apparently it is,lol...

No, it's not quiz time. It's just that the parties are really divided on this, and one side says one thing, and well you know. . . The commerce clause is a broad power that congress has, and just about everything is commerce. Which is why it shocked me to here a court going against this.

Trust me, I love freedom as much as anyone else does. I also love independence. I'm just not convinced that one party, or the other, has the answers. And with todays political scene, we have less compromise. I could care less who is in office so long as they actually represent the people and not a special interest group. Lately we haven't had a congress who was willing to do this. And still, we ignore the national defecit like the fat girl at prom. Lots of stuff needs fixin' and I don't think we're on a quick pace to make changes.

No, that quote comes from Chinese folk wisdom, not the Bible.

Maybe a good way to have political discussions here would be to require people to read the New Testament first.

Callin' people "Stalin" is skating close to the big X.

Also, I really don't think that most of the Dem's are card carrying members of the communist party, however their is alot of suggestive viewpoint's that are emerging from the left that the issue IMO, can't be ignored. What it comes down to is this, we will not change minds at this point but by the same token, it probibly can be toned down and I will be civil if others can follow the same lead. Truth is, I think only fishing should be talked about on this site. Anyways, my two cents.

Alot of truth in that sir. And sorry about the snarky quizbo comment.

No problem man. I'm a fisherman, and trust me I do love our freedoms. It's something that I truly do cherish. In about two weeks and two days I will be back down on Crane, waiving a stick at some wild trout, which is all the freedom one could ever hope for IMO. Peace guys, finals coming up.

Also, I have to ask the question. Do you want the Goverment no matter who is in charge to have the kind of info and access to you're private medical files? I don't, and I see this as another example of rights and freedom's slipping away. I think that it is time that Ayn Rand litature become's popular again before it is too late.

The law does not mandate you buy insurance from the gov't, it mandates, like car insurance, that you buy it privately. Though if they offered the option to buy it from them, it would cost less and drive the ultimate price in the private sector down.

Not like car insurance, you don't have to insure yourself in your car insurance, you only need to protect the public. If it was like car insurance Brian you would have to buy me health insurance.:lol::lol:

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

In light of all that's going on here, I have not kept up with any threads on the forum although I suspected this one was probably getting out of hand. Developed a bad dizzy spell mid afternoon yesterday that put me down at 9 pm.

Not going to close the thread but I ask respectively that it end.

Again I'm not going to be reading for a while- I have too many other things on my plate right now.

Thanks
