Al Agnew Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 There's a difference between being apathetic about such issues, as the Democrats often are, and being actively opposed to anything that smacks of environmentalism, as the Republicans often are...even though the net result is often the same. This cutting the budget junk is ridiculous. Dang it, start with the big ticket items and see how much good you can do there, and THEN do the cleaning up around the edges. Just how much money do you think these stupid little gestures really save. All they are is a way to thumb noses at the environmentalists.

If the parties have their way, we will not get anywhere...they want a stalemate in Washington. Andy
Thom Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I guess Lilley should have pinned this thread. I think Phil is out of town but even though this is somewhat political I just see satire, a little playful joking back and forth, and opinions stated here ALL absent from personal attacks and name calling of each of the other posters. If these interesting threads remained as void of the above pitfalls I think there would be little or none of the red button finales. Thom Harvengt

Trout Commander Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 If it had been X'ed yesterday, that would have been way too late. The why contribute to #sarcasm a thread so rich in such delinquency?! #sarcasm I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. flytyer57 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 The why contribute to #sarcasm a thread so rich in such delinquency?! #sarcasm Because it's so fun. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 22, 2011 Root Admin Posted April 22, 2011 I was out of town... but had internet. Back now and into the fray of biz and family in town for the weekend. I think you guys are getting tired of arguing actually... this topic is fizzling out fast. May be you're starting to see the light! Happy Good Friday! PTL Chief's not in jail!!

I don't mean to be a trouble maker, but it's confusing when you say "no politics" but then allow a thread so heavily into politics. Is it only okay when it's not the crunchy granola party getting trashed? Just trying to figure it out. I don't like to see politics in a forum like this, and I guess I should just turn a blind eye to it here. But if it's going to continue, I feel like I should try to add some balance to threads like this. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha

drew03cmc Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 We talk some politics around the campfire and when it is harmless banter, it doesn't matter. This thread has been really lighthearted for the most part and the problems arise when things get personal and one member starts attacking another. Andy
