jeb Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Yeah, I sure believe that. Been raining HARD most of the day here. Sounds like it might be worth a drive to the dam in the next couple of days to see the water going through the gates. Hopefully, they'll turn the turbines loose, too. Shame to waste all the potential electricity. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Guest Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I heard that its even higher now, with the possibility of topping the hwy bridge. so I feel for those people losing their homes in the wake of this flood.
Stump bumper Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 I just heard on the news the flood gates are open, first time since 2008, doesn't seem that long.
Members LarryC Posted April 25, 2011 Members Posted April 25, 2011 Gates open but how much? Generators running WOT right now and the lake is still coming up. Good thing most of the stripers are still south or Table Rock could have a new fishery. Making Beaver Lake safe for all the little fish...one striper at a time.
tjulianc Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 According to this all seven gates will be open one foot. http://www.carrollconews.com/story/1721678.html
nwaoutdoorsman Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I've seen it come up fast before, but never like this. I just checked it and at 6pm it was at 1129.10. Its probably close to 1130 by now. I've only been able to get out twice this year and neither time was on Beaver. I need to find some time to get out there this week.
Stump bumper Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 6pm news said they had aready increased the opening to 2 ft.
