Guest Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I hope it stays muddy for a while, but its getting plenty of fishing pressure now. I caught a few saturday afternoon and broke off a giant. Frustrating when people are all catching fish but you.
Quillback Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I haven't been over there yet, but probably will get over there this week sometime. Sorry to hear you had a biggun break off. I bet there's a ton of pressure right now, that lake gets pounded, but in spite of it seems to hold a good bass population. I bet they'll be on the beds next week with the warm weather coming in, I'll have to figure out something to use that's a little different than what everyone else is throwing at them.
Guest Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 There's a bunch on the beds and spawned out already... I had a 6lber that wouldn't bite, did manage to catch a pair of 20" bass.. This while I focused my efforts on redear. As for the bigguns, look out. I'm armed with 20lb floro and a biffle bug ,now
Quillback Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Nothing wrong with a pair of 20" bass How were the redear doing? Every spring I intend to go out and fish for them, but I always end up bass fishing instead.
Guest Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 The redear were in full spawn, which made them very hard to catch. They were too busy doing their thing. I could see them, maybe 200, doing circles around the "honeycomb" Pretty impressive, I almost burnt up a fillet knife cleaning redear this weekend.
