Members FullTiltAngler Posted April 26, 2011 Members Posted April 26, 2011 Just wondering how conditions are after the big flood of '11. Does not appear that the lake is going up to crazy.Did not ever hear exactly how much rain fell in the area.Any info on this appreciated.Hopefully did not mess with the crappie spawn to bad. Good fishing and be careful out there to all.Let me know.
Members 3inonegod Posted April 27, 2011 Members Posted April 27, 2011 Just read that the Corp has closed Table Rock lake for 14 days. Is there anything like this on LOZ?
vernon Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 LOZ is thus far unaffected. Been here since Saturday and the fishing (in the dam area at least) has been off the charts good! My brother and I have caught over 100 fish a day EACH and have yet to fish more than five hours in a day. Kept a limit each of crappie and threw back at least ten more limits. Quit keeping anything under 11 inches after the first day. Numerous largemouth and today caught six hybrids from 3 - 5 lbs. All VERY SHALLOW. Small minnow type baits on roadrunner heads and spinnerbaits. You can't hardly NOT catch them right now. Amazing "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Members FishinJack Posted April 28, 2011 Members Posted April 28, 2011 Yep, we're fine. No 2011 flood, don't even say that people will believe you. That's all the lakes way south of us, like on the Arkansaw border. Everything is normal. Fish are biting just fine. I've mostly been crappie fishing lately and have had our limits everyday since Sunday. (and that's because I had 2 kids with me). Three good limits today, three good limits yesterday, more limits on monday.
Members Fishin Fanatic Posted April 28, 2011 Members Posted April 28, 2011 Anyone have an up to date water temperature? I haven't been down there for a few weeks.
Members FullTiltAngler Posted April 28, 2011 Author Members Posted April 28, 2011 Thanks for the info. Was very curious how the crappie are doing and if they are still running shallow for the spawn. Will likley be up Saturday in the Horseshoe bend area.Good fishing to all and enjoy that beautiful sunshine.
vernon Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 In my opinion (after spending Saturday thru Thursday down there) you're gonna absolutely kill em'! Good luck and have more fun than you can stand! By the way, the points seemed to hold the bigger fish earlier this week at least. Still very shallow though. If sunny, maybe move out to about 8-10 feet. Early and late they're almost on dry land. Members FullTiltAngler Posted April 29, 2011 Author Members Posted April 29, 2011 Thanks for the info.I'm hoping to do well both this Saturday as well as all weekend next week.Good luck and good fishing to all.
