Danoinark Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 While Phil is busy with his own issues with the resort and flooding, this has prompted a question from a member who says he would like to see a pinned topic during times of disaster explaining areas where folks need assistance and a list of those willing to offer that assistance. Not monetary pledges or fund raising, but actual hands on help either physical or logistic. Let me know if you feel this is something we need to add during these times. I haven't spoken to Phil about this as I know he is overwhelmed at the moment. Give me some feedback. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"

Members timr0123 Posted April 27, 2011 Members Posted April 27, 2011 This is a very good idea. Nothing better than neighbors, or as in this case, anglers helping fellow anglers. Count me in to offer my assistance.

You might need to add some "disclaimers" to deal with the seedier side of volunteer help ("...at your own risk, blah blah blah") but this could be a great addition not only for disaster relief but for anyone who needs help. Not sure if you want a whole section set aside, but other forums run a "Volunteer Opportunities" section.

My 7 year old daughter would be with me so I'm a bit limited. Could bring a canoe and waders.

Mitch f Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Here's a great story about a group of my friends down in Poplar Bluff who have a food shelter for the poor and recent flood victims. These guys really have it together and are doing the Lord's work the way it should be done! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
