I don't understand the political part

The comments about amnesty for Mexicans is all political.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

yes and yes. With him not being a citizen he has NO rights. being here illegally he deserves to be shot. If we did that illegal immigration would not be a problem.

Muddy, you're a right thinking American!

I find it in poor taste how some of you can make political statements from someones death.

What, you don't think that the fact that he was here illegaly is realivant ? This is definetly political and I can't think off a single issue better than this to show how BOTH parties have dropped the ball on the issue. Once again, fair and ballanced. I will say this Flytyer, I'm am impressed that you passed on the link to inform everybody who was not aware of this situation in the news. Good job!

So, if you were at the river, and the landowner, with a gun, asked you to leave, AND you have a gun, then what?

No one is going to be at such a disadvantage, or at the very least, you won't be shot in cold blood, god forbid it ever goes that far. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Of course idealy, it WOULD be best to leave but at least you are not going to be taken advantage of or even worse without a say in the issue...

US Army's M9 Beretta carries about 12 rounds that for some is about the best judge out there and many folks think a 357 magnum with six rounds is all anyone needs to carry. :yaeh-am-not-durnk:

I happen to agree with you.

What would it have mattered if he was an illegal Mexican or a card carrying member of the republican party? What he did was wrong and I did not post that to bring up the situation of whether or not he was an illegal. I brought it up in response to the post from Cricket about encountering a clown on Shoal Creek with a gun because someone thought they were trespassing.

The diffrence flytyer is this, The Republican ( or Libetarian,Dem,green party member, etc..) is an American, and thus by vitue of that fact, has constituional rights and due process. There is a way again, to legaly come to this nation, and the convicted party did not take that path, which makes this even more of a tragedy. Also, the fact that an individual was granted rights that should only be granted to a LEGAL citizen is IMO, just plane scarry and should alarm any level thinking person. I can't help but think that my forefathers who fought so valiently for this country, are rolling in their graves when it comes to these sort of issues. Sad !
