johnboy2bfishin Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 local club from west plains,mo.(10 or 12 guys) looking to goto stockton for the first time. we don't know anything about lake would like info on lake and what dangers if any and best lures for that lake this time of year. if we come up it would be for only one day alot of travel but from what we have heard it is a remarkable lake.
shockley32 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Welcome - Hope you make it to Stockton and enjoy your time! I would start in the creeks - Sons, Birch Branch, Greaser, Price Branch, Maze, Googer. Right now a spinnerbait is good on wind blown banks, I prefer white, white/chart or sexy shad. Crankbaits are really good as well - bandit 100 or 200 series, strike king, storm wiggle warts. However the water has come up a few feet just in the last couple of days, water in the brush means flipping bushs with creature baits and jigs. Don't forget the lizard bite as well! The crappie and walleye are doing well right now, don't over look them!!! Good luck and let us know how do. Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
johnboy2bfishin Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 thanks brad, we are havin a meetin this comin monday and will make decision. but i think most do want to come up does it look like that stockton won't come up much more sayin we get no more rain.
conman Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I hope to come over on Monday. I will be coming from Pomme, can someone reccomend a ramp? Thanks, Chris
Members Conman64 Posted May 1, 2011 Members Posted May 1, 2011 Can Anyone give me the location of a ramp on the southeast side of the lake????
Jbrant Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Can Anyone give me the location of a ramp on the southeast side of the lake???? I put in at Masters on the Little Sac side a lot. I come down 13 Hwy and it is about the closest ramp for me. I go through Fair Play on 32. It's close to Maze Creek and can get over to the Big Sac arm pretty quickly if needed. Good ramp, hardly ever too busy (it's a little remote).
johnboy2bfishin Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 thanks jbrant for that location i was wondering if there was something close to 32 and 13
Guest csfishinfool Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 thanks jbrant for that location i was wondering if there was something close to 32 and 13 I would say that Ceder Ridge would be your best bet, it's on the south side of the lake. TTake 13 to 215 head west untill you hit 245 go north, you can't miss the signs for ceder ridge. Its a nice ramp but there is a 5 doller fee. Also you can put in at high point which is on the north side of the lake.
johnboy2bfishin Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 thanks csfishinfool how hi has the lake come up now that most of the rain is thru and color still clear or muddy
Guest csfishinfool Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 thanks csfishinfool how hi has the lake come up now that most of the rain is thru and color still clear or muddy I think the lake is about seven feet high, the main lake is still clear. Up the river on the big sac side you run into mud right about twin bridges. I would think that the aldrich side would be muddy starting around the 245 bridge on up the river but am not 100% on that side of the lake.
