Hey Walleyedmike, you said my buddy would spend a couple of bucks on walleye tackle.Well------------ he just caled to tell me he just ordered 8 packs of 25#1 slow deaths and 2 packs of 25#2!!!!!!! im telling you he had a great time at stockton. What do you think?

I think your friend has a disease and needs help. You should have never taken him walleye fishing. Next time take him to a casino, or a strip club or a brothel. He'll be money ahead. Sounds like your friend likes to go big...I like that. What I meant was he could make a slow death rig for a couple of bucks, as opposed to spending ten bucks or more on a Rapala shad rap or some other crank bait. I get a little bit of a tear in my eyes every time I lose an expensive crank bait. If I lose a slow death rig it doesn't even bother me. However, I rarely lose them, the hook straightens out and pulls off of snags pretty easily. I just bend it back, throw on another crawler and get it back in the water. I always use #2 slow death hooks. Why? Because that's the first size I bought and I had success. I generally don't deviate from anything that works for me. Be sure to let us know if you guys see any difference in success between the #1 and #2 hooks. Also tell your buddy to buy 250 quality swivels to use on his rigs. I also use fluorocarbon line for my rigs, I've heard it doesn't break down like monofilament line from ultraviolet rays. Sorry about your friend's new disease. I can help with an intervention...for a price...I accept walleye fishing gear in lieu of money.

Walleyed Mike,

Do you use any blades with your slow death rigs? I use them once before i sold my old boat, but it wouldn't idle slow enought to use the effectivly. I am however going with a friend on saturday and thought i would pull them back out as he has a much nicer boat than i had. Before i just used the hook, BB, and about 1/2 a nightcrawler, and tried to drag it along as slow as possible.

Zac, you inspired me to tie a couple of rigs with some little willow blades. I have planned on making some of these all winter, but just didn't do it. Will be interesting to see if a little flash and vibration will add to the presentation. Thanks man.

I almost always fish a spinner rig with a crawler. I use the whole crawler with a 2 hook rig. Caught 3 last evening, biggest 19", in what everyone is saying 15 to 20 feet. All 3 hit hard. Guess what's for dinner tonight? It's all about what your confidence is in.

:............ It's all about what your confidence is in.

That is so very true. And patience.

There is another thread going re: Pomme and the guy has been to Stockton 3 times and she's never given up anything to him. While we have had some very trying days we've never been skunked. There are some days the wife fishes while I play with the electronics....we're never skunked on those days. I swear she could catch a fish out of thin air.

You sold me, the eyeman has one and said it stays in one spot , that would be great on days with wind, set it and forget it

Point B-4 and along the bluff on the main lake side...start at 12' and work your way out till you find them...
