Jdecoudres Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I have a new G3 boat and the cover has the black strapes you wrap around the trailer and then click it and cinch it down. My problem is that when going down the road it rubs on the boat and leaves black stuff and some place it rubs the boat all the way thur the paint. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? THanks
Gilly Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 How many and how big are the areas that contact the boat? I had my wife sew some soft cloth around the straps on the cover I had 2 boats ago but unfortunately the damage was done. Ended up getting a new cover with bungee tie downs and a ratchet chinch. www.drydock516.com
Jdecoudres Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 ok thanks you! Yea its only 1/2 inch in some place and maybe up to a inch in some. Thanks for the advice
Dutch Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 When you put your straps on take 1/2 turn in the strap before you go around the trailer and 1/2 turn when you bring it back to snap it. The will keep the straps from vibrating while you are in transit.
skeeter Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Just a suggestion but there are claims that towing with the cover on will cost 2 miles per gallon plus it beats the heck out of the cover. Many I know never cover their boat on the road unless there is foul weather.
