Bass Boat Insurance

Couldn't find recent info on the forum for this so appreciate any recommendations. Am buying a new bass boat with 150 Optimax Pro XS to be kept on Table Rock and fished primarily there and Bull Shoals. From the experience on this forum, what is the best insurance company/coverage to use (first time owner)? Thanks!

SORRY ABOUT THE 2 BLANK POSTS GOT CONFUSED !!!!!!!

Have had several insurance carriers, Old Republic thru BASS back in the days, State Farm, & others. The last few years it's been BOAT U.S. no complaints & they seem very flexible in the type of coverage & limits that they will let you set up. There are a whole bunch out there including PROGRESSIVE. Get quotes from several, make sure you can compare " APPLES TO APPLES " & " ORANGES TO ORANGES " coverage & benefits versus premiums deductibles etc. & go from there.

You might give the National Boat Owners Association a try. E-mail jberndt@nboat.com or 1-800-248-3512 ext 3012. I have just switched to their policy. They beat my present and past insurance company by almost $300 a year on a 2010 Z8 Nitro with a 225 Merc. My old company just was not competive. Progressive quoted $301 a year. So bottom line they look at your years of experence operating a boat some look at credit rating. It kind of like a person told me a few years ago about insurance companys. They are in the loss business yours not theirs.

Before you decide, check into their coverage on thefts of fishing and electronic equipment. That alone, not just cost, made my decision to part with the former Company I had and sign up with Progressive. Not fond of their ads on TV nor their owner's extreme liberal views but couldn't find another carrier that offered their level of coverage. My two cents.

Thanks, good info. Have seen US Boat recommended on a couple of websites. Will check out others mentioned here..any other ideas out there?

Thanks to all. I like FLO also but none of my money will go to ACLU, Move On.org or other liberal causes inspite of Progressive having the cheapest quote. Appreciate input from this forum on a non-fishing report topic!
