dtrs5kprs Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Is it still happening on the re-scheduled date? We are staying at Schooner during it and thought that might be a better morning to do the family-touristy thing than getting the kids out early to run thru take off wakes if it is still on.
techo Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 I received a call asking me if I was going to attend this year, so I would guess yes. 174 boats last year but don't expect so many this year. Tim Carpenter
dtrs5kprs Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 Yeah, last year I was running a fin at the mouth of Whites Branch when about 115 of that 174 went past. If they get half that number for turnout it will be a mess on launching and parking, usually is back by Schooner's dock anyway when it happens as scheduled in May. Normally I am down by myself in May and just go out earlier or a little later, but would like to keep my short people clear of the crowd. They really should think about going out of Aunts...

You are going to find this difficult to believe, BUT I agree with you. It has two ramps and the one ramp can take four boats at a time if it isn't a newby. The other ramp can take two even if they are newbies. A lot more parking there too. Plus it would save me gas. No clue why they focus on Ahoys so much for tournaments or Kimberling 13 for the Water Patrol Tournaments. Currently.... I am glad they do put in where they do! Tim Carpenter
