ColdWaterFshr Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Used to fish above Linden all the time, right where the lake tails out and becomes a creek. Some good holes back in there, but also a lot of stinging nettle.
RSBreth Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 That area does get a little traffic - it's pretty easy to wade in most spots. I fish it mostly during the week if I can. And yeah - I don't think I've seen as much stinging nettle than in the part just up from Linden. Must be ideal soil for it or something.
OzarksRiverman Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Hey, were you at the Olga Road bridge? My wife had to be in Springfield Saturday and wanted me to drive down with her, so I took a rod and some lures and did a little exploring while she was doing her thing. Stopped off at Olga Road and saw one other vehicle parked there. I just waded up the creek for a quarter mile or so, and caught one 12 inch smallie and an Ozark bass. Didn't see much else other than a couple more smallies in the 10 inch class, and maybe one bigger fish (just an indistinct shadow under my lure). Hey Al. I went to Olga today, fished a 100 yard upstream from the slab from about 9-to-noon and picked up 25 goggle eye, 6 or 7 Largemouth, 2 or 3 decent brownies. Two LM were in the 13-15" range. Crawdad Imitations, and one(1) live 3 1/2" crawdad. FYI--in case you make a trek back towards Springfield.
