Wooly Buggers Causing Line Twist

I started tying wooly buggers a coule of days ago and have been testing them out and found that they are causing line twist. I havnt had this problem with the wooly buggers i ordered online though. any thoughts on ehy this is happening?

P.S.- They are bead head buggers

Couldn't tell you why, but you might try something like this: F-C Furled Streamer Leader

I'm sure you can find those micro-swivels on their own somewhere.

It's caused by stiff hackles. As the water passes by it twirls do to the palmering of the hackle. Dale at Blue Ribbon Flies told me years ago the best hackle for buggers is the cheapest chinese chicken neck available. They lay down like marabou. The stiffer the hackle the more it propellers in the water.

Sometimes fish will like the twirling bugs and sometimes they prefer the softer hackles that don't twirl the bug. I know because a doctor friend of mine with plenty of cabbage always bought the the most expensive materilas and we fished together and noticed the difference.

Heavier tippet will cut down on the spinning though.

Go for a more stout monofilament. Something like Maxima.

Of course, the different hackle will definately help. I like a webby hackle on my streamers because it gives more movement.

Snag is right. Try using the more webby saddle hackles, or even Indian or Chinese saddle hackles.

I doubt that your leader is the problem or it would spin everything.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys, i went out for some bass fishing and the new batch of buggers I tied had the hackles laid back towards the tail. That seemed to help as well as stiff mono.
