Is there a trail that leads down to Ashely Creek from Baptist? If so were do I find it? I have always just waded down.

Not really...There is a 2 track that leads down from Baptist on the access side..It will take you downstream about a 1/2 mile....but you will have to cross the creek at least twice get to Ashley...not all that hard..just pick your crossings..........2-3 mile round trip walk & wade. Maybe 3-4 hours...if you fish lots...All day if you fish relentlessly.

What he said. Expect it to be brushy this time of year.

As a rule I don't generally wade donw that far unless I'm making a day of it. Pack a lunch and enjoy the river, or stay closer to an access if you're only in it for a few hours.

Thanks for the info...for some reason I thought there was clear trail down that way. I may wade down to it anyway. I usually take a lunch/drinks with me so that should work out ik.

there is a trail that comes out in Ashley creek about 100 yards up from the river confluence. I ran it a couple years ago to shuttle but I was running upstream. It was tough to follow and overgrown. Not sure I would have found it going down. I'm guessing with the high water that there hasn't been much foot traffic to keep it beat down.

Went down last weekend and walked down past Ashley creek on friday, the walk down is gravy and with the low water the walk back is pretty easy also. there is a trail that leads from the S curve to the horseshoe but in the summer is overgrown plus the floods knocked trees down across it making it a pain to use. I did walk from baptist to parker on saturday I don't recommend that it is a long SOB. started at 7am ended at 7pm plus my friend left the keys to is truck in my truck at baptist, it made for a long wornout day, but everything worked out. We did catch alot of fish most on hopper/cicada patterns, I did try steamers but got tired of watching my brother (on point) catch fish on cicada's. P.s. stlfisher nice fish (other thread) had to be fun catching it on a hopper.
