joeD Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I see CC has dropped quite a bit. I see no reports. What gives? I have a free weekend coming up. Should I come down? Muddy? Flytyer? I need some Beta info. My left eye is starting to twitch a little bit. The pitcher is getting nervous. Please don't make me call JJ.

I fished CC last week in Yellville. I caught a few smallies. It seems to me though that the gage is not accurate. It said the creek was flowing around 100cfs, but it felt faster than that. I'm planning on going there again this morning. Gage says it's flowing at 76cfs. I'll report back later. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
gotmuddy Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I believe the gauge needs calibrated. Sadly I have not been fishing yet this summer. This weekend i have to go fishing. If your interested in some advice pm me. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
flytyer57 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Well, what can I say? The fishing at the park in Yellville was great. I lost count after 15 or so. Didn't catch any huge bass, but I did see a big one follow my crankbait back till it saw me. Must have been at least 16 inches. No big fish caught, but the numbers made up for it. I started fishing around 6 AM casting a topwater. Only had one fish slap at it. After about a half hour or so with no results, I switched to a crankbait and started catching fish. Not sure why they weren't hitting the topwater. A few of the fish I did catch hit the crankbait while it just sat there before I began reeling. The creek has changed a whole lot since I fished it last year. That may account for the difference in the way the flow feels. What was deep water last year is now shallow and what was shallow is now deep. There are no longer any deep holes along the park side of the creek. All my fish came from deeper water. At least 2 feet or more. Only caught a few midstream hiding behind rock piles in the middle. The sun didn't start to shine on the creek till about 8:30. It seemed the fishing picked up when the sun started to show itself. Here's a pic of one of the nicer fish I caught today. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
