Humminbird 570 Di Thru Hull

Hello. Just got new ride (for me) - ranger 175vs and intend to install 'bird 570 DI. DI looks to be fun to play with Question - will the standard transducer work as well if it's installed thru the hull instead of on the transom?

I would suggest PM to Doug Vahrenberg he is the Humminbird guy. I have a 798 si but added another di through the hull with a y cable. You may want to look at Bass Boat Central as there are some great electronics guys there, including Doug. They gave me the numbers and suggested where the best price was to get what I needed.
