I sent an email this morning, but I'm not sure if they will care since I'm not a taxpayer, voter, or resident of Taney County. Hope that doesn't reduce the impact of my message.

I followed gonefishin's example and called the KY3 newsroom this afternoon. I don't remember the fellow's name, but he was very interested, asked me several questions about what was happening. I was able to field most of his questions, thanks to the forum and Phil's email. I sure hope we can get some exposure. Maybe if the Corp. realizes that not all citizens are apathetic, wishy-washy do-nothings, they'll pull their heads out of the sand.

Good idea, in fact if I don't see something shortly, I think I will call and ask why.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Excellent idea on contacting the news media. Maybe the other TV stations in Springfield should be notified. I could do that tomorrow unless someone wants to tackle it tonight. Your local papers and radio stations can also be a significant outlet....Dano

That's why I suggested steve brigman early on. The News-Leader may not let him tackle political issues, but the outdoors section should be covering topics like this as well as the grip and grin shots w/ fish.

Excellent idea WebFreeman...any of you Mo guys know him (Brigman) personally? I bet a call would get some response...

I know Phil and Bill know him but since they are gone, maybe someone else could get through to him.

What is scaring me is that everytime I read that government annoucement about the permit application..the end date in May for public comment haunts me. I would have thought there would have had to be public hearings. I still have not received an answer back from the Corps on any hearings that might be scheduled. In fact I have not received a reply from any of the emails sent.....Dano

I also emailed The News Leader. No response yet.

I would rather be fishin'.

Neither am I. But we spend a lot of money in the area when we are done there. If you stop and figure it out. The wife and I spend at least one two days and one night when we come down. We try to come down at least once a month. That's one night in a motel, gas, snacks, two days worth of meals, multiple visits to the fly shops :) . We may not be from Taney county, vote, or pay taxes but we spend our fair share of money there. And quite honestly, it's the fishing that brings us down. If that's gone then we'll have to find somewhere else. Not being nasty, but we really don't care about SDC since the kids are gone and the shows are just not our thing.

I forgot they were out of the country, so to speak. I don't know him, but I'll send him an email anyway. I think it's listed at the end of his columns.
