Nortrad Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 They're singing in Springfield. Wonder if there's enough interest in the trout/bass for these more common bugs? Are the fish 'imprinted' from the Brood XIX to key on a similar big bug in a different color?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 28, 2011 Root Admin Posted June 28, 2011 There's been several reports talking about using cicada patterns- tying them and fishing them. They're pretty much done here but our trout are still looking up.
Kayser Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I'd go for it. What can it hurt? Just gotta go a little bigger than their orange counterparts. WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.

Gavin Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I'm sure that the bass will eat em...if the trout dont.
Nortrad Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 That would be fun. I've hooked a smallie below Parker and spooked a couple down from Baptist. I'm wrapping some foam/hair/rubber bugs. Thanks guys.
