Goggle-Eyed Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Just FYI to anyone fishing or boating on Grand Lake. The lake has a severe Blue Green Algae bloom going on. The GRDA has issued a statement that you should not swim or make contact with the water. Other experts have stated that they don't recommend eating the fish out of the affected parts of the lake. It doesn't appear to be overtaking the Main Lake but Duck Creek, Party Cove, Bernice State Park, and a few other areas are very toxic right now... Very bad for business at the marinas. Only saw about 10 boats on the lake in a couple of hours. Joe
Quillback Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Sorry to hear that, is it the slimy, mossy stuff? Are you doing any bass fishing?
ollie Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I was on the Elk river arm yesterday morning and we tore 'em up!!! As far as I can tell I don't have any skin problems as well. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Goggle-Eyed Posted July 14, 2011 Author Posted July 14, 2011 GRDA just lifted the no water contact. Said just don't swim if there is alot of algae! Let business flow again!!!!
