What is your favorite set up for fishing the Rock? Not necessarily your most productive, but simply your favorite way to try. Like I said, be as specific and technical as you want. Your answer can include everything from boat and motor to the hooks you put on your lure, and it can also be something you WISH you had. Have some fun... For me, it would be fishing as the sun is setting out of a big dual console Ranger Z21, throwing a Texas rigged Watermelon candy Baby Brush Hog on a 3/0 Mustad needle point with a 1/4 oz tungsten weight (just love the way a soft plastic bite feels and I always think I have a chance at a hog on the bbh). I would be throwing this on a 7ft MH G Loomis NRX with a Diawa Steez spooled with 12lb Seagar AbrazX. Hopefully a shallow bite, say less than 15ft to increase feel.

There is nothing like feeling the tap reeling up the slack and laying into a rod bender. A full moon makes it a little better, especially if it jumps and you can get a good look at it.

But, the most reliable and most productive for me has been the Gr Pumpkin Fish DR on 6 lb line. Hearing that drag whine while bringing in a 4 lb + smallie is still a thrill!

Having the white bass boiling on the surface as far as I can see and all the way around me. Catching 20 in a row, throwing a silver spoon on light weight gear. Cup of coffee full. P break over. Members pavon azul Posted July 4, 2011 Members Posted July 4, 2011 No question about it,the #18 Rapala weighted to suspend in 45-55 degree water utilizing a jerk,jerk, jerk, long pause and short twitch retrieve,then feeling that "swash" feeling just before a non-suspecting gizzard shad munching lunker wraps her lips around my triple hooked replica.My palms are sweaty and my arms are sore just thinking about it!!!!
